Poem | what she didn’t want.

She didn’t want

to hurt his feelings

So she walked with him

to his car.

I stayed,

watched as she

walked with him

A thing of beauty

in those lacking

days.

Jealousy?

Compassion

was of no use

to me

For me to watch her

walk away,

was to embrace

her.

“You are

a jealous

man”

She told me

that night.

I rolled

Over

“But did you

have fun?”

I asked.

“Yes.”

“Good.”

And we Slept.
